We all have excuses or reasons why we don’t get things done. We are too busy or tired; whatever our go-to reason is it is just an excuse. What we need to say is that we don’t manage our time well. I am the first to say that my time management skills are lacking! But what does the Bible say about time management?
“15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17
We are to walk wisely and to make the best use of our time. There are so many things that can steal our time, scrolling through social media, watching TV, playing video games, etc. In limited amounts, these things aren’t bad, but when we get so engrossed in them that we lose hours from our day, that’s when they become harmful. I have done it myself! I tell myself “I’m only going to check one thing on social media,” then an hour slips by without me even knowing it, this is a prime example of Einstein’s theory of relativity. Why is it so easy to lose track of time on social media, but it seems like a chore to do other activities? I have one word for you, priorities! What we want to do is easy for us but things that we are less interested in plays second fiddle!
